SITKA Waterfowl: Early- to Mid-Season Layering

SITKA starts their early- to mid-season layering system with the lightweight base layers of their waterfowl gear. These base layers are the core of the system and provide the inner warmth and structure needed to keep you comfortable out in the field. Choose a lightweight base layer so you don’t overheat during early-season hunts. As you progress to the middle of the season, a midweight layer with added warmth might be the best option. Pair your base layer with our recommended early- to mid-season outer layer from SITKA’S waterfowl system—this is meant to perform as an added layer of warmth. The early- to mid-season outer layer provides lightweight warmth and moisture-wicking technology whether you’re in the water or getting rained on in the blind.

SITKA Waterfowl: Late Season Layering

When temperatures drop and the snow starts to fall, late-season waterfowl gear needs to be extra warm, waterproof, and offer ease of accessibility for calls, shells, or any other hunting necessities out in the field. The late-season layering system compiles all three layers of SITKA’s waterfowl gear from the base, middle, and outer layers. Start with a heavyweight base layer that manages your warmth from the core. The middle layer will provide extra core warmth but still is able to function as adding warmth to your outer layer when temperatures are unseasonably cold. Your outer layer provides protection from water, howling winds, and frigid temperatures while still being durable and easy to put on over initial layers.
