I LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe. We had a slight hiccup on my second pair and customer service went above and beyond to get me fixed up before I left for Greece. I mean- the service was FIRST RATE, just like the product. My traveling partners always wish their foot attire wore and worked so well and know what to buy for their subsequent trips. The fabric around the ankle is soft, which is nice because I won't get blisters, but it doesn't provide enough support for tough trails. Soles are not the most flexible, especially compared to my original Patches, but hoping they loosen up over time. All their shoes run small. C'mon, you guys — at least warn us!\nI ended up returning them and paying for the package and in the end ordered this model in size 7.5 and they fit just fine. That's why this gets 4 stars, not 5.\nHaven't tested them in the mountains yet, but they did an amazing job supporting my feet through four 12-hour shifts on set, so that's already a big win in my book. My original pair developed a significant crack at the toe joint after only 5-6 real wears after contacting customer service (who were awesome and extremely helpful - 5 stars on that front) I was sent a replacement under warranty, which have also after only a handful of wears also failed in the same spot even after attempts at some preemptive leather care, today as I went to do my follow-up round of leather conditioning I discovered cracks forming in what upon closer inspection appears to actually be a type of faux leather which would explain the rapid deterioration. The boots were very comfortable and kept my feet warm. I would definitely highly recommend the boots. I wear a size 8 in running shoes and got an 8 in these. I wore them with lightweight no cushion wool blend socks.
