It has some nice 5-7lb 18-22in Large mouth with a lot of 1-2lb 10-12in large mouth. I have to fish braid due to the amount of Lilly pads and grass. Its a lot of top water fishing with frogs and pulling bass out of cabbage once you do catch them. I fish it 3-4 times a week. I found spider wire EZ braid to be a nice line, at $14 for 300 yard spools from walmart. At first the line feels stiff and has some plastic like covering. One you fish with it, the line breaks in and feels more like a normal braid line. Strength is good & once the line is broke in, it fishes just like any other braid. I have found this line easier to get a birds nest out of a bait caster reel. I'm not sure why...it just seems to be. \r\n\r\nIf a person doesn't use a very sharp cutting utensil to cut the braid, it can cause the woven strands of braid to start separating and unwinding. If it happens just cut up the line a bit higher where the braid is still woven together.\r\n\r\nPeople complaining about the line breaking at the knot when setting the hook.....I don't believe that is the problem. I think the problem is when the line is fresh the plastic type coating on the line makes the braid slick. When you tie a knot...leave a little bit of a tag end so it doesn't pull through. Problem solved. \r\n\r\nOverall, this is a decent solid line. Is it better then the higher end braids. No. However, it gets the job done. You get 300yards vs other Brands/braids where 100-130yards for the same money. I hate putting on expensive braid....then getting a bad birds nest that I have to cut out. I actually went to Spider wire EZ braid due to occasionally catching some cats tails on the pond when I'd cast from my kayak. When I snag, I can usually bully through it with EZ Braid without it breaking. I use it for trout, bass, catfish, etc. No problems! I checked the other brands I have and the line consistency is much better.\r\n\r\nWent to another pole with braid from Kast King. A huge amount of time re-tying, untangling frayed and split just to have the next hookset or cast break. O.k. lets re-ty AGAIN.!! 3 guys my front porch tied their best knots to a lure with the other end in a loop to my Berkley scale. Virtually ALL knots either slipped or broke at 1 - 8 ounces !!!. I had 1 ,yes 1 knot that held all the way to 2.6 lbs. Bad batches ? poor quality ? At this point don't know ,don't care !! I was about to risk another lure on it, but the line snapped when I tightened the knot.
