For the price, it works. Hard to get cardboard into the attachment rings without the cardboard getting caught and bending a bunch making successive attempts even harder. Rods will bend/warp with enough stress trying to get them into cold ground. Mallet makes it worse - even the footings will bend. If it's hard or rocky, it's not so good. I took a couple of 2X6 doug fir scraps and drilled 2 appropriately sized and spaced holes in both. Now, they have stability on any surface. After that, I managed to hit one of the rings with my .380 which didn't do it any good at all.
