The Bait Station itself seems sturdy, but the aerator is clearly defective based on my own experience, and that of many others based on reviews you will find here and on Amazon. My aerator had no corrosion, suffered no misuse, and we removed the batteries prior to storage etc. I spent extra to get what I thought would be a high-quality system from a good brand so it would last. I even bought the optional AC adapter...only to have an aerator failure after using it just two times! A customer shouldn't have to fork out an additional $50 to replace an aerator that clearly has design or manufacturing problems. Unfortunately that appears to be my only option. We rarely fish so it was out of the 12 month warranty period when it failed. I echo what I've read in reviews here and on Amazon: I wish I would have read more of them before I made my purchase since this appears to be a well documented and ongoing problem! The first time I used the unit the water was spilling out whenever I would lift it up then I noticed that the gray seal that is around the top does not close or seal against the bottom, it is recessed. Gasket does not seal at all and there is a section of the seal that is sunk in like its defective. Carrying it is like carrying a bucket of water without a lid you loose half the water.
