My front tire started bleeding air around the stem hole while I was traveling, and when I unseated the tire, sure enough I found a small tape curl that had grown just long enough to reach a spoke hole. The LBS didn't stock any tubeless tape (and I didn't feel like trimming something like Gorilla Tape down to size, although that works in a pinch), but they did have these, so I figured I'd give it a shot. The strip slides on fairly easily with a tire lever only required at the final point, and thankfully it doesn't slide around at all so the valve hole stays right where you put it with no fiddling required. It's fairly easy to keep the strip aligned straight down the middle all around the rim (much better than tape!), although I did run the edge of the lever all along both edges to make sure they were down firmly. The strip is indeed a little thicker than tape but I didn't have any problem reseating the tire, and the firmness of the thicker strip resists any bunching as you seat the bead. I inspected both edges of the tape carefully after seating but before inflating the tire, and there were zero points where anything appeared pinched or shifted by the bead. The tire sealed up right away and held pressure over two long rides so far.\n\nAdvantages over tape:\n------------------------------\n* Easier and faster installation; it's pretty hard to screw anything up, whereas a good tape job requires a lot of attention and precision.\n* Seems very durable, and I'm pretty confident that it will hold its shape no matter how many times I have to unseat and re-seat the tire.\n\nPotential disadvantages:\n---------------------------------\n* One strip costs about as much as a 10m roll of tape, although I feel like my time is worth something and I'd much rather install these than mess with tape.\n* I'm not sure what will happen if/when I have to replace a spoke--- one of the other reviewers mentions that the strip could be easily removed & replaced, but I haven't tried it myself.\n* Sure, it weighs more than tape, but the strips are still feather light, i.e. probably weigh less than the amount of sealant I already have congealed in the rim somewhere from previous tape leaks. I would consider the weight negligible compared to absolutely everything else on the wheel.\n* Not available in as many widths as tape. I used the 21mm size on a rim with a 21.3mm inner width, and it seated cleanly with just a tiny curve-up on the edges (i.e. my \"21mm\" strip is probably about 21.5mm wide. My other wheelset has a 22mm internal width, and while I think the same size strip would probably work adequately there, there's definitely more risk of a tire bead snagging the edge.
