Maddsen Slip-On Shoe in October 2022 about a month before a trip to Northern Ireland. I was looking for a comfortable hiking shoe. Having previously owned a pair of Timberland SmartWool slip-ons that were wonderful to wear, I gave the Mt. Maddsen slip-ons a try. They did not disappoint. The leather uppers softened and molded themselves to fit my foot so they have become my preferred shoe for working in the yard as well as hiking. They shed water well and the thick soles keep my foot out of puddles in the rain. After 2 years of hard use (I write this in 2024) the soles are worn, but no separation at all from the leather uppers. Very well made. When I saw these slip on casual shoes on sale I ordered them in the same size - 8.5. They were much too large. My foot was lifting right out of them. I returned them with a note to exchange them for a size 8, however I was refunded my purchase instead. I wasn't too unhappy about this because when I saw the ultra aggressive deep lug soles I realized these were not the casual easy on/off shoe I was looking for. I didn't want a sole that would track mud and dirt indoors regardless of the weather.
