I live far north in Wisconsin and have never been a “purse person” because I don’t like how they hang off my shoulder. A hip pack solves that problem completely and helps prevent the bag fatigue I usually get.\nBoth the 1. 5L and 3L Allpa X hip packs surprised me. The zippers are heavy-duty and feel secure, and I added a small carabiner for extra peace of mind while traveling abroad. I originally thought I’d return one, but I’ve decided to keep them both. The 3L Allpa X is going to be perfect for my 34-hour flight to Indonesia this spring. It keeps my passport close, holds all my essentials (and then some), and isn’t so big that I’m tempted to overpack.\nThe overall construction is impressive—the stitching feels strong, and the interior organization was surprisingly helpful during my mock packing. I also tried both sizes on, empty and full, and for reference I’m 5'3\" and 140 lbs. I’ve been using it almost daily for the past month, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance. It’s the perfect size to carry everything I need on a daily basis.
