The waist is so uncomfortable because of the perpetual rolldown. Also, the waist construction is so unforgiving on the waistline even if you are super skinny - even the tiniest skin roll will be accentuated into muffin top exaggeration. The previous version had a completely different waistband construction in which it was not only secure but also flattering to midsections. Also, that front small pocket to hold keys is completely gone in the new version - runners need separated pockets for cellphone and keys.
