I've been blind buying when it's time to replace, and every new pair, while minor tweaks here and there, have generally brought a new spring to my step. This is the first generation that has been disappointing from the start. Ride is just okay, no new shoe bounce to it. But most notably, I live in an area where it rains almost every day, and these are the absolute worst shoes I can remember in my 20+ years of running in terms of traction. I am slipping and sliding all over the place it's actually a bit scary. If the outsole is going to fall off quickly (as many reviews here indicate it probably will), I am totally dumfounded why Hoka took this major step backwards. Needless to say, I will definitely not be buying another pair from this generation, really
