Don't run in puddles and you will love these shoes. I bought rhe gtx due to often walking in wet grass during the Spring and Summer here in Florida. This is my 3rd pair of Hokas, having previously worn Arahis and currently Bondi 8, both standard width D, the Bondis being extremely comfortable albeit a little clunky.\nHaving had the Challengers only a week, worn them once and unfortunately they are not at all comfortable with the toe box being overly tight and narrow on the toes causing discomfort during both running and walking. I've worn these shoes consistently for about two weeks, and they have not lived up to expectations in terms of comfort or performance.\n\nHeel Pain and Discomfort\nOne of the most glaring issues is the lack of support around the heel area. After a short time wearing these, my heels started to hurt significantly. This discomfort persisted even after adjusting the laces and insoles to try to improve the fit.\n\nToe Box Issues\nAnother issue is the toe box. While initially the fit seemed okay, extended use caused my little toes on both feet to feel cramped and sore. The pressure in this area becomes unbearable during longer wear, making these shoes unsuitable for all-day use or extended runs.\n\nCushioning Isn't Enough\nDespite being marketed as a cushioned, all-terrain shoe, the midsole didn't feel supportive or plush enough for me. Instead of the smooth, comfortable ride I expected, the shoes felt stiff and unresponsive, especially on harder surfaces.\n\nOverall Experience\nI really wanted these shoes to work, but they've only caused discomfort and pain. For a premium brand like Hoka, I expected much better in terms of fit, support, and performance.
