After a bunch of research I found that the Forerunner 165 has many premium features found on Garmins premium watches like the MARQ and FENIX models, but comes in at a price point much more in line with what I was looking for. I've done a handful of runs with it and the heart rate monitor is very accurate. Something I never thought of and didn't come up with in my research is that if your wearing headphones while running it will audibly tell you your last lap time (mile time). Not a huge deal when it's only 1-5 miles, but on longer runs I tend to space out a bit and being reminded of my pace definitely helps keep me in the zone I want to be in! (Also I've been wearing it for a week now and got it with 60% battery and it's still at 45%! I've tracked runs with it 4/7 days! GREAT battery life!)
