All Nike socks are now straight \"tube\" style, which means material bunches up where the top of the foot meets the bottom of the shin, because, well, your leg and foot don't resemble a straight tube. The asymmetric (L/R) toe seems poorly or hurriedly designed, where the previous socks contoured the toes without excess material or stretching. This material is thinner and they don't hold up to normal wear and tear.
