I finally took the plunge and bought the Griptilian. The blade is of excellent quality and arrived very sharp. It opens smoothly with the thumb stud, but after I learned to use two fingers for the release was pleased at how easily the blade can be opened and closed. The size, weight, and blade is perfect for my use and after multiple uses I prefer it to the other 12 or so knives in my modest collection. It's worth the price. I have both versions. Both are solid steels but I prefer the s30v a little more. The grip is great - hence the name - and it’s been my primary edc for years. Retains its edge, perfect EDC or utility blade shape. Nicely pronounced thumb stud for deployment and the axis lock is solid and quick to use. It’s easy to pull and flick closed. It takes a great edge and tunes up easily. The first model had the thumbhole blade of 440C. Then came CM 154. S30V is better. I like whatever steel holds an edge the longest. I like the Griptilian because of the lightweight. If I have on gym shorts or light weight dress pants it does not pull them down or distort them. Some do not like the handle material but I am here to tell you it is tough. I love it. I have dropped my knives countless times on concrete with no damage. I use my knives hard, maintenance well, and keep them sharp. The grip is a good ergonomic shape.
