Before I would have given it 5 star reviews but since they changed it up to this easy cast version its like a beginner flourocarbon line. The diameter is now bigger than it was and no where near as strong causing break offs way more often. I wish you would bring back the original Vanish that was about unbreakable and smaller diameter. I just dont understand why you would lower the quality and get rid of the original vanish that was more sensitive and way stronger then make it basically an entry level line. I've tied Palomar and uni knots with this line and it holds together terrific. \n You can't use knots that rely on a looping sinch because the heat and friction cause the line to cut itself and become weak. If you use complex and tight knots with a bit of water this stuff holds better than Trilene XL and XT\n3# I have not had issues with it coming apart. I think this comes down to using good quality rods and reels- I've used this line on my old reels and rods and had the chaffing issue because all the line guides were old and worn down. BUT. on a fresh and well-kept rod and reel the line effortlessly comes off the spool.\n\nMy review: This line is for bait casters only as a mainline. This line is only for leaders on a spinning reel.\nIn my field test, I have seen that the 14, and 17-pound test functions the best in terms of castability. The 20-pound is a bit stiff, and I'd rather use Trilene 100% FC when stepping up to heavy tackle. When it came to sensitivity the line was more than acceptable. It is a LOWER stretch than mono, but not stretch-proof. I found this to be beneficial with shock absorption on a heavy hookset. When it came to raw invisibility the line was perfect. Since it is 100% fluorocarbon the line is tough to see in the water and functions seamlessly. When it came to spooling my line, YOU must SPOOL YOUR LINE TIGHT. Because the line does have a moderate level of memory you need to make sure it sets on your spool to the exact diameter of it. Ensuring that your line is properly spooled will make sure you get the 100% casting potential out of the line. \n\nWho is this line for? This line is for the people who want an affordable, dependable line with all the qualities of fluorocarbon at the price point of an expensive monofilament.
