It rained 11.5\" in 1 week. I was wet inside from condensation as I kept vestibules zipped up to keep out windblown rain. \n\nFly Creek HV 2 Carbon is now my go-to tent. 2-person tent is roomy for me and my gear. Double wall design breathes well and keeps me dry on the relatively wet AT. All that and still less than 2 pounds with optional footprint, tent, fly, poles and stakes.\n\nAfter total of 5 weeks on trail (4 separate trips) it is starting to show wear in floor by door. Super light, easy to pack and carry. Setup in minutes. Dries fast after a rain. Always used the ground sheet. Carry the main tent in my pack's back center pouch, the poles, stakes, and ground sheet in a side pocket next to water bottle. Stayed dry in the rain, no issues in some gusty winds. Even though it is free standing, the footbox lines are critical to keeping your feet off the sides of the tent. Need rocks/creativity to setup on a tent platform, especially in the wind conditions. Vestibule fits a pack and shoes easily. \n \nMain con is probably the single door system. Very small fly entrance and makes it somewhat difficult to get into the main entrance to the tent. Also could use a guy lines to pull and fully expand the middle section of the inner tent. I was excited to use this tent, I had used an older model of the Fly Creek on the PCT with great results. I figured the lighter weight would be a winner. I was very wrong. I'm struggling to figure out where this tent belongs, all I can say is it doesn't belong on a thur hike or any extended trip. Which is odd because that's the only place a ultralight tent would normally fit. After two months of careful use with the footprint I'm finding my floor wetting out every time it rains. I either received a defective product, or this tent has serious design flaws. My friends are using their zpack tents with no footprints and are having no issues. The floor and footprint have no signs of damage, but if I push a towel against the floor when it rains the water between the footprint and floor slowly leaks through. By morning my whole floor is wet. It is leaking all over even in the back of the tent where there is low use. I think the whole floor is breaking down from only two months of use. I'm an experienced hiker and my other hiker buddies agree that something is wrong with this tent. I'm in the middle of contacting Big Agnes now, but so far all I have received was a list of repair cost. The whole intention is for it to be as light and compact as humanly possible so realistically there has to be a compromise in durability. The DCF fabric is crazy-crazy light and thin, being DCF it's remarkably strong for how light it is but it's not the same a standard weight tent in terms of durability... you do need to be careful with it. \n\nPitching is an absolute breeze, dimensions all seemed spot on so a nice tight pitch was super easy. I can't remember a tent which had a cleaner, tighter pitch than this. One fairly amusing side effect of the crazy light weigh is pitching in a breeze and turning your back on the tent will see it drift away in the wind if it's not staked down first! \n\nIt's certainly a tight 2 person tent, i.e you'd want to be good friends with the other person but if you're buying this overall comfort probably isn't your primary concern. I was most recently using it for a bikepacking trip and with a bit of wiggling I could get the road bike inside on rainy nights (with the wheels off).\n\nThe ability to pitch just the fly is super nice for overnighters, making for a seriously crazy light package. The included tent pegs are nice but at around 10g a piece it's likely you'd want to swap most of them out for some titanium ones to keep the crazy-light theme going. \n\nFrom reading other reviews on this I think the main thing to keep in mind is whether you really NEED a freakishly light tent. There are compromises on durability to get the weight as low as it is so it does need a bit of extra care... so if you don't need the lightest thing in the world then i'd recommend getting the standard version or something a bit more durable... Super light weight, I use the fly creek hv ul2 at work (FS) and that is a much tougher tent, I don't have to use a foot print. The carbon tent is superlight and I have been using the 4 ounce footprint. I camped for 9 nights in Gates of the Arctic, have to be gently with tent. One night was over 2\" of rain and I had puddles in tent, but with that kind of rain it's to be expected to get wet. It did well in high winds. I sprayed silicon waterproof on floor of tent and was out in another huge rainstorm and tent did well. Would not want to share tent, the 2 person is good for one person. Tent fly on bottom half tends to stick to the tent. I wouldn't be able to take either of my dogs in this tent as fabric is too lightweight and would get torn quickly. Our first fly came ripped, BA sent a replacement. 2nd fly, 1st rain, we got soaked. Bathtub floor lays on an angle at feet, inviting water in. Fly is a sloppy fit that collapses against tent wall when wet creating condensate and leaking over top of floor. BA only offered a credit for a different tent and has since gone silent. I'll try my own modifications of 8 additional anchor points.
