I usually wear a boys size 3 wide. The Anacapa 2 low GTX in a size 3.5 fits great. It has a high toe box, the width across the ball of the foot is roomy enough for my fat feet and the shoe is shaped like a foot, which is a definite plus. The sole is stiff enough to walk on gravel or tough terrain and the trail shoe stiffness also helps my bunion issues. The side support is also excellent. It laces up high and the back of the heel is high enough to accommodate an orthotic, if needed, without the heel slipping. It is extremely comfortable and waterproof. I walk my dog 2-3 miles a day in my neighborhood and on a trail. This is the best shoe I have ever owned, and I am old. I would highly recommend the Anacapa 2 and plan on taking them on a trip to Europe. I own a pair in olive haze/mercury sole, which is really nice looking and a pair in dune/vibrant orange. I am also a graphic designer so I appreciate the nice color schemes. It is so difficult to find a good fitting, supportive and comfortable kid's shoe. Kudos to Hoka.
