Honoring a tradition that started in Calgary in 1986, Calgary Flames fans come dressed in red and proudly fill the arena collectively forming the “C of Red” on game nights to show their support. The Flames were founded in 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Calgary in 1980. Through their charitable arm, the Flames Foundation for Life, the Flames have injected over $30 million into southern Alberta in support of health and wellness, education and grassroots and amateur sports.
