Everyone I knew had a Buck 110. It was a status of manhood. Years later, my 110 went into the Army with me for 21 years. Now I have the Buck 110 Auto. The attention to detail is seen in the 110 Auto. The scales are perfectly aligned with the body of the knife. The action is fast enough for me. It doesn't try to rip it out of your hand, but it does let you know it has been deployed (quickly). The sound it makes when the blade locks open qualifies it as fully ready. After opening the package, I looked at the knife for a while. I cleaned and oiled it with Lucas Gun Oil. I only gave the 110 Auto a 5-star rating because it didn't have 6 stars. I didn’t really know what to expect. I’ve been a Buck guy since I was a little kid and my dad gave me his 110 which was worn almost to nothing. What I got was nothing short of exceptional. . It’s big, bold, and built like a tank. I was afraid the mechanism couldn’t stand up to the weight of the blade but it can. This knife has an action that is smooth as butter. It is utterly reliable and wickedly sharp. These are always sold out at the dealers so I got on the factory notification list for the next batch release. Two months later I got an email from Buck and bought the knife with their 10% off web store coupon.\nAs expected the finish and function quality were perfect. Ultra sharp enough to shave a thin layer of fiber from a rolled sheet of printer paper. But one thing I appreciate is the solid lock-up upon opening and the solid click when closing.\nAfter two days and about 50 cycles of the mechanism the blade opening started to slow and stick. I called Customer Service and was told how to properly maintain the action.
