I have used this knife, out of the box to process a full size cow elk. It performed perfectly. The edge remained sharp and I probably could have done at least another half of an elk before touching up the edge. It is that good. Well balanced and feels good in my hand. Not slippery, considering I was covered in blood. I recommend this knife to everyone that wants a sharp hunting knife for this price. I will probably be buying the small Selkirk next. I wish BUCK sold a leather sheath for this knife on their website. I like how it handles well, and so far, the edge has held up well. The only negatives would be the sheath.
