My 12u softballer got this bag as a last minute need a new one (hers broke in the middle of a tournament weekend, so we ran to dicks to find a temporary bag) so we picked this bag over the Jen Schro white bag (she doesn’t like white equipment). Fast forward to getting home and swapping bags out…the catcher’s gear fit inside the bag so at least it’s lives up to its name. Now here’s the problem….none of her other equipment fits in the bag! Her batting helmet, fielding glove, and face mask doesn’t fit so she has to carry them separate. After jamming her catchers helmet into her batting helmet, the bag was able to close however it took a second set of hands to pile up on the bags zippers to get it to close, not easily done for a 12u player that has all of 2 minutes to pack up after a game. With two helmets and the chest protector in the bag, the cleats won’t fit in the bottom so there’s another item that can’t fit. Will be ordering a new bag again and this one will sit forever in the garbage as soon as a replacement bag comes in! I was able to cram everything into the bag but there is no way a child could get things to fit. If you are just a catcher this would be a great bag or if you are not using this for catching equipment, again it would be a great bag. Overall too small to really fit fielding, catching, and hitting gear. The backpack seems to be constructed well for the price. I was very disappointed that there is very little room for his shin guards (they BARELY fit in the slots). In addition to his catchers gear, he still needs to put his infielders glove, smaller catchers practice glove and bands in there. There is literally no more room for anything else once the chest protector and helmet are place in there (his cleats barely fit). The bag will get him by, but he will be switching back to his larger bag when he starts back with his travel team in the summer (he's not going to attach his batting helmet to the outside of the backpack).
