Battery life still easily makes it all day.. With no music playing, the pucks have virtually no interference with hearing since they are not in ear, and I can still hear what's happening around me while I'm listening going down the hill. Having a music playing will obviously make it more difficult to hear what is around you since there is more noise hitting your ears, but you can hear edges on ice and snow, friends on the lift, and the important stuff. The simple two button control (one button on each ear) does everything that I need it to, the buttons are easy to find with mittens, and the tactile and audible click with each press of the button makes operation easy. Easy to turn music up or down, easy to switch tracks or pause, easy to take phone calls, etc... Phone call quality isn't great for a person on the receiving end, especially if you're actively skiing/boarding while talking, but I don't think anyone buying these is looking to give a high def audio voice presentation while skiing down a mountain.\nI don't know if pucks1 are compatible with the mobile app walkie-talkie functionality, but I have high hopes. If they're not I'll definitely order an additional pair of pucks2 so that we can easily walkie-talkie back and forth on the mountain since you often won't hear or feel your cell phone ring or vibrate if you get a text message and meeting up can be challenging.\n\nThese can't be beat for the price point.
