I’m tired of the hammer pullers so I went to YouTube for suggestions. The best video was by UR. After watching the video I made the decision to buy one. I mounted a 2’x2’x1/2” plywood on two studs then mounted as per instructions. I was pulling my Boo boo loads of 40 S&W. No issues and had the first 100 rounds pulled in 45 minutes. My hammer puller took me over 2 hours I love it. I purchased the \"Pile Driver\", mounted as per the instructions. The collet in the carriage would not hold the cartridge in place and about 35% of the time and the entire cartridge ended up in the plastic component cup. This eventually destroyed the cushion at the bottom. I called customer service, and they suggested using the hose barb fitting with a plastic hose. I used this fitting with a section of hose, and it broke after removing another 100 bullets. I will admit that the problem with the collet not holding the bullet improved with use. It seemed as if the collet adapted itself better to this small diameter case. A second call to customer service was made where I suggested that the Hose Barb fitting be made of aluminum instead of plastic. Customer service sent me two new fitting. I switched to the lightest gauge hose with a 5/8 inch inside diameter I could find. I made sure the hose end was cut square so when it was mounted the hose made contact with the head of the fitting for the entire diameter. Secured with a small hose clamp I was able to finish my last 250 rounds without incident. I haven’t mounted it yet. I use it on the floor after hearing that it might bust, I think giving it the ability to slide with its inertia has worked well. I bought the factory setup as well as the magnum size cartridge carrier. After 10 cycles trying to remove an all copper bullet, my .308 is still stuck in the standard cartridge carrier with the bullet in the case. I've all but given up and now I can't get the case out to try another one because the bullet is still in the case that in itself is supposed to come out just like that. Even with the bullet and powder removed, the case still left indentations in all my finger tips while trying to remove the one case that actually separated. I've worked in industrial maintenance for 25 years and have fairly tough hands. This was the result. It works really well but does have a learning curve. They are NOT kidding with the warnings in instructions. \r\nI have had 100% success with the Pile Driver, and have mounted it on the side of my loading bench where it is easy to access but out of the way. It is easy, effective and is a perfect work smarter not harder tool.\r\n\r\nThe ONLY reasons I dont give it a 5 star is the capsule for catching the bullet has foam bottom that is very worn already with infrequent use, when you add that to the higher price it is a good tool but not the greatest value. Within 20 rounds, the carrier latch nut launched itself into the far recesses of my basement. Attempted to contact customer service. I got a single automated response asking for the same information I had already given. Responded with pictures and got nothing. A trip to the hardware store got me back up and running. Now the foam in the bottom of the catch cup is pretty much destroyed. I guess I'll have to find my own replacement material.
