This kindling kracker did a good job splitting up the wood into smaller kinder. Starting a fire now gets hotter faster and hopefully use less lighter fluid which is crazy expensive. I saw one review of using a tarp to cover it as it was stored outside. Hint, an upside down 5 gallon pail fits it perfectly. I store it in yard shed. Not too heavy to carry around at all. But substantial quality build to handle splitting hardwoods.
