I love using it as a water dispenser in camp, and when I need to carry a fair amount of water on the trail, this does the job. The problem is that my cap disappeared, and Gregory cannot offer to sell me a new one. They offered to give me a 20% discount on a new reservoir, but after paying $63 for one, I will not be paying $50 to have use of one when all I need is a plastic part. They say they don’t have this particular cap available as spare parts. Well, stuff happens, and if you claim to offer good customer service, maybe you should plan to keep spare parts on items that can clearly be easy to lose. After one 2 week use the cap/lid broke. It comes with both a cover and a cap that has a valve in it so that water can come out when the bottle is upside down and someone is holding the valve open, but does not come out when someone is not holding it open. I used it for 10 days on a backpacking trip and when I got it out in preparation for this year trip that valve was broken so that it would not hold water. If the quality of the product is that poor I cannot recommend it.\n\nThe 2 stars is because while it worked it was great. It did everything that Gregory advertises and I found it easy to use. After several day trips and backcountry trips with this one, I really like it. It rides a bit higher in my pack than the longer ones and can fit right on top of my fully loaded-pack. I had no problems with leaking of any kind. The bite valve is great and the Basecamp Tap is pretty nice for filling up my pot to boil water. The handle makes filling from a larger water jug or a spigot easy. If you're in the market for a new bladder I highly recommend this Hydro Trek from Gregory. I enjoyed the ability to easily pour from bladder to bottle/cook pot, but having to store the bladder in a waterproof bag in my pack wasn't worth it. I thought I could just adjust how it fit in the pack to avoid whatever pressure was causing it, but a fellow hiker notified me that my pack was dripping.
