Super light weight, super portable, high end materials but after sleeping on the cot for 2 nights a week for a month, as the materials become worn i, lower back pain was experienced every time I slept on it, to the point where I would wake up in the middle of the night in pain. I haven't taken it on a backpacking trip but now i wouldn't want to because of the low back pain it causes. I don’t mind paying for good quality but $350 is a bit steep, especially for only a 5 yr warranty. I bought the purple and pink one that was on sale and am pretty happy with the quality. I’ve been sleeping on it regularly for the past 3 months and it makes some noise now if I shift around but no louder than a creaky floorboard. In the beginning the cot was silent—no fabric rubbing noises—it was glorious! There is a technique for the stretch clamp thingies: just use the base heel and only an open palm. The instructions and YouTube are pretty easy to follow. I understand why Helinox offers a convertible cot as well as a high cot (with the legs built in) because I wanted the flexibility as well, but man, C1C + legs is pretty pricy especially for offering only a 5 yr warranty. I don’t recommend sleeping on it directly. At first I put a couple blankies on top and slept soundly for quite a few weeks. I recently added a Nemo sleeping pad and omg what a game changer. The cot was already pretty comfortable but being a side sleeper the hips and knees can get sore, and the sleeping pad makes this as comfortable as sleeping on my sleepnumber bed. It’s just a little cumbersome trying to thread the bars into the fabric. It’s also a little tricky trying to get the crossbars to clamp down. A considerable amount of force is required for the crossbars to click in place. I have arthritic hands so it hurts a little bit. The bed feels really low to the ground. It would be nice if the legs are offered with the cot as a set. To disassemble is easy. The cot packs nicely, and it is easy to carry in the bag that comes with it.
