My coach told me that nike's would be better, so i tried them and ran a worse time compared to these and every other spike ive worn just feels worse then these. I'm writing this review after realizing just now that these arent even meant for the race that I do, the mile, and that they are actually meant for longer distance, so I am going to purchase the mid distance version soon and primarily wear those. I have purchased two pairs of shoes one was a Clifton and my recent a Rincon. I was noticing ligament pain all around both ankles and hip pain in my left hip. After many chiropractor appointments, orthotic treatment and switching around shoes, I noticed a direct correlation when I wore my Hokas. The soft spongey foam that Hoka claims is cutting edge is actually the culprit to my on going ankle pain and hip issue. The soft foam they use in the shoe has very little stability and csn actually cause your foot to supinate. After reaching out to the company with receipt and one month old shoes to the day they declined me a warranty. The shoes were pk for pne week then soft foam broke down and thr sability is gone. They were a fine shoe but I preferred other brands. With the 3rd generation the shoe got better is almost every way. The cushion feels good but the plate is very snappy and feels more firm. The old shoes had a rather weak plastic bottom that got beat up easily, but these seem to be built stronger.
