The open hem means that these pants look great with nearly any shoe whether they are high tops or low tops. These pants being fleece keeps the little one warm and the fit is roomy enough for them to wear shorts underneath in case the weather will be changing and a layer needs to come off. Glad that Nike used an embroidered logo here so that the logo won’t wear down after multiple washes. I have many versions of these pants for myself and this smaller version carries over the exact same quality. Needless to say, he goes through a lot of athletic wear. My issue with him and sweatpants is they wear quickly at the knees. These sweatpants seem to be more dense material. Even though they're fleece, they're also breathable which seems to be almost impossible to find. My 10 year old commented that they're incredibly soft. I love the vertical tubing down the sides. He's worn them to football practice, school, and over his shorts after basketball games. Black sweats sometimes fade after their first wash; these have kept their color for a few washes now. The drawstring is also very adjustable. Sometimes I find that my leaner kid has a hard time keeping bottoms up, but I inspected the waistband and what Nike has done here is brilliant. The waistband wasn’t too tight and the length of the pants fit perfect over his shoes. The pants were lined enough to keep him warm in the cooler temps of the morning, but still cool enough to wear throughout the day. The only con would be not having elastic at the ankles. Once he grows a little taller the pants will be too short.
