Only trouble is it quickly loosens on pee breaks, or even the walk to the car from the house. This is the best solution. Having said that, a friend said that some cars potentially don’t activate the brake mechanism if the weight of the passenger is very light, so that might be an issue for a small dog. Thursday evening we almost got into a car accident one someone stopped in front of me on the highway on ramp. I had to slam on the brakes. My dog was in the front seat and she slid onto the floor. Thank God that broken buckle didn’t snap but it made me realize that even though the harness she had was comfortable, it was not high enough quality or a secure enough fit if we were to be in a real accident. I immediately bought this harness because Kurgo is such a great brand, and it was one of the only harnesses I could find that was designed specifically and only for car accident impact. It came today and it fits my box or perfectly, I got a size large. It is a little stiff so she needs to get used to it but I know she will be secure and safe and I am so glad that I ordered it. Once I got it fitted to her and on her, I was even more impressed with the quality fit and design. The design must have been done on the skinniest 110lb dog known to man. They need at least 6 to 12 inches more strap on each side; opening to get over the head of the smaller, not enough room to actually get a front leg through.
