While some other iconic buildings could have been featured such as the U.N. Building, Brooklyn Bridge, and Central Park, Madison Square Garden, or Union Station - given the space limitations this set does justice. And one can always tap into creativity to expand further. I had been waiting for this to set to come back in stock and grabbed it at the closest local LEGO store in NYC. Upon opening the box and taking everything out. The bags are not numbered. You are supposed to rip the bags open like a mad man and just start building with the book. You have to really search each bag and open it once you reach that step and it is a bit disorganized. However, building Lego with small children, though rewarding in its own way, is not relaxing. That is why I decided to try this set out myself, without the kid's help. Overall, I enjoyed this set, but I do have several issues and items I can share for those contemplating trying out the Architecture line.\n\nThis set was very repetitive, which, on first glance, sounds like a negative. However, I found the sorting and repetitive use of similar elements to be soothing. The limited number of colors used in this set helped to make the sorting process much simpler, but did make it a little harder to find pieces a little harder during the build.\n\nThe Instruction booklet is very nicely laid out. I enjoy reading about the places which the build represents. I would have preferred if the beginning section were spread out throughout the book, with facts about each building coming right before you built that building.\n\nThe instructions begin with the all black base the set rests on. This consists mostly of plates with some tiles. However, there was an interesting section with some bars towards the end of the base build that inspired me to wonder where this would be leading.\n\nNext, you build the Statue of liberty. the statue itself is represented by a sand green microfigure, which is fun, but it is small and the base is not that interestsing.\n\nAfter that comes the Empire State building. This structure is covered with 1x2 tan grills. It does use some interesting techniques, but it was the most repetitive part of the build.\n\nThe Chrysler Building was mostly just stacked plates and jumpers, but did have a interesting top section. My biggest complaint with this building was the difficulty of disassembly. All of those stacked plates are a pain to seperate.\n\nI was underwhelmed with the Flat Iron Building. It was essentially just stacked wedge plates, but it was small and easy to complete.\n\nOne World Trade Center was the most interesting part of the build. It utilized some innovative techniques to accomplish the offset structure of the various levels.\n\nOverall, I enjoyed building this set alone. It really has no \"play value\" as it is just a display piece. He is very into Lego and can build sets that are more advanced for his age with minimal help (usually the only help he requires is unsnapping pieces or locating pieces from a bag) He had this set built in about 3 hours. He loves it. He also has built the London architecture set. Now I love the architecture series, and this set is a great addition! Totally worth the hour it took to build. There was one mistake I found but others have addressed it so I won't go into detail.
