{"reviews":[{"id":7213423,"locale":"en_US","rating":5,"title":"Norway Backcountry(Dovre to Trondheim)","text":"I'm leaving this review based on the Beta AR Stormhood(w/PFAS) so you'll know the difference in reviews. \n\nFirst off, Waterproofing... I used this jacket on a backpacking trip in Norway(10/8/25 to 23/8/25). Did not need it at first till I got to my last 100km of my trip in which it rained everyday. Not once did I have to worry about being \"wetted out\" or feeling soaked at the end of each day I wore it. \n\nBreathability - I dealt with temps ranging as low as 40F(5C) and as high as 60F(15C). Not once did I have to worry about sweating while having the armpit zippers open. Only time I worried about being hot was when I would have my Kyanite LW Hoody on and the jacket at the same time. \n\nInsulation - This jacket has very little insulation. Which in my opinion makes for a wonderful layering piece. \n\nHood - I didn't really use the hood all that much because I had a water repellent hat. When I did use the hood, I had no issues with it. Was able to wear the hat under it and cinch it down with no problems. \n\nOverall, I love this jacket. I look forward using it on my next long backpacking trip. This is my second one after over 10 years with the first one. I’m 6’5” and 270 and the regular fit of the jacket is very comfortable. I submitted a Product Service Request (AS01630547) over a month ago, and have followed up twice. So far, crickets from Arcteryx. I have another shell in which the Cohaesive adjusters work just fine, so it’s not a design flaw. Overall, if you’re not planning to wear this with a hood, try to try it on in a store before buying. Even with adjustments, the Storm Hood can be a little too voluminous.
