Too narrow for some","text":"My first Hyperion was the 2, only complaint I had with it was the outsole durability: terrible, too thin and too weak for concrete. \nThe Hyperion 2 had a perfect upper, perfect laces and sock like tongue, and of course a fast foam. \nThe Hyperion 3 on the other hand is better in durability (so far I’ve put probably 150 miles). However, I’ve mainly been using them for grass/dirt sub-tempo (steady) workouts. They have served me well on the grass, not sure how they compare on concrete workouts.\nBiggest thing I hate about this shoe is why did they go back to the fat laces? Good thing I kept my H2s because I just switched out the laces.\nWidth is another issue for many. Luckily, I wear 9.5s with almost an inch of room for my front toes, and the sides feel more snug. For people who don’t have narrow feet, it probably will not be good for you. The Hyperion 1 & 2 filled a relatively sparse market space for quick and light non-super shoes for fast days. They were not perfect - a bit too flexible for me - but very solid for their purpose. It's especially painful on downhill slopes, the lack of extra space means my toes jam into the front. The heel is too high and the whole shoe is canted forward. I loved the first and second versions of this model. Brooks really missed the mark with the H3's, I feel like they really leaned in the \"chunky, cushiony\" movement that is seen prevalent in all shoe brands. The shoes are clunky, awkward, and heavy. Forget running a tempo or track workout in these.\n\nThe two most disappointing is the discontinuation of the GTS version of this model, and lost the identity of the \"Hyperion\" line. \n\nI loved every aspect of Hyperion 2 and was so excited to try these. an amazing fast shoe that was my go to for tempo and interval runs, the Hyperion 3 felt like a cheap plush shoe that depleted all of my energy with each stride. \n\nPlease please bring back the old Hyperion design and reinstate the GTS version. As others have commented, this model deviates from the light, fast shoes that made the Hyperion product line unique. This version is too bulky, too heavy, and too hot. No. Are they still fantastic. Yes! I really wasn't sure after reading all the reviews but after trying a few other brands (and really not getting on with them) I decided to just go for it. In the first week with them I've done a 5 mile tempo and an easy 20 mile long run. They've been great! Still have that amazing ground feel of the Hyperion 2s, a little narrower admittedly and still fun when you pick up the pace. They were light and nimble. The Hyperion 3 is completely different, big and cushy. It's heavier, more cushiony, and the toe box is super narrow, to the point it's almost uncomfortable. The whole shoe feels narrow, but particularly the toe box. However, I typically wear a wide and at first it seemed OK but after wearing it for a few days it became clear it wasn't. \n\nThe midsole was fine which is the weird part but at the toes it was squishing my pinky toe to the point it was hurting every time I wore them so they had to go back. \n\nThey REALLY need to make a wide in these which should fix my problem.
