The first served me thru several years of wading creeks and rivers. Please believe me-I hike to get to rarely fished waters. 0 complaints! They are not heavy at all. They are not cumbersome. Prickers do not slow them down. I wear flannel jeans with them fishing 20 to 40 degree weather October to April and stay warm-yes, feet too. Fishing April-May, regular jeans keep me warm in these. Those are my fishing seasons in NYS,, Oct to May. Was well into my 3rd year of these boots before developing first minor leak. It graduated to this point where I ordered a new set. I also invested in boot hangers for first time. They are durable and long lasting. I like that they stand up on their own without needing to strap them to your pant-loop, though they can be strapped on if needed.
