The water proof lining is a big benefit for those wet days and also adds a bit of warmth. From a style standpoint, I really dig the look. Can wear with a lot of different pants. After only a few days of normal wear, the front sole delaminated and came completely loose. I submitted a warranty claim the same day (October 11 at 2:30 PM) and received confirmation with Claim #2794421.\n\nThe company’s response stated that due to a backlog, it could take up to 30 days to process my claim. Why 1 star? After three months the outmost layer of sole has started to separate on both shoes! Three months of weekend wear. Separation is mentioned in other reviews too, so it leads me to suspect Keen has a design issue or a quality control issue. I am in commercial construction so I average 10-18,000 steps a day- over various terrain, ladders, or concrete slab all day. The problem here is the heel of the right boot. The stitch on the panel across the bad is digging into my upper heel/Achilles through the WP liner. Its so bad I can't wear them all day, or walking uphill. \n I do have 2 other pairs, 1 same boot, no WP and its great! I can dress it up or casual. The other is also a work boot, Waterproof and insulated- just too heavy for summer. \nFootbed is comfortable(with an insert), break in was quick- EXCEPT for this quality control of the rear stitching inside. It's very comfortable and I love the style. I recently did a trip to Costa Rica and hiked through the jungle in these boots. The ultimate test. They held up beautifully. I did experience some friction on one of my heels, but I see that as a normal break-in because one of my feet is slightly larger than the other. I solved the problem by using thick wool socks and a simple band-aid on the friction spot.
