I’ve had a pair of these for about 5 years and they really do the job. The also are firm enough that you can really walk with them. I use mine with snowshoes and they’re fantastic. I have problems with my plantar flairing up and making it difficult to walk. None of the shoes I have had in the past did anything to help that, even another pair of Obozs. However after my wife bought these boots and I started wearing them I do not have the pain in my foot, I am able to walk without any issues. They are absolutely comfortable and they are water proof. These are the first shoes that I can say I do not feel like I am wearing them they are so light and comfortable. Personally I find it is only about 7\" but very comfortable and good durability. My first pair lasted a couple years of everyday working outside in all weather. They are still serviceable but starting to look worn not as dry as they were once. They have worn very well. Seams are still solid and the glue lamination is still secure. Obviously warmth is dependent on a lot of factors, but these weren't comfortable in the teens (although probably survivable). The 10\" model might've been fine, but to be honest if your regular outdoor activities take you to single digits or lower you might consider the 10\" or even a more serious mountaineering boot just for comfort. Something like -20-0=mountaineering boots, 0-20 degrees = 10\", 20-40 8\" and un-insulated hiking boots above that.
