I am active Army, these were bought for field and in garrison wear. To be honest, I like the Quest better. While the cosmetic similarities are aplenty, this is a whole different boot. Stiffer, something is just different on my feet. These were built different though. They were obviously tougher and built to last. I wear them in tall wet grass, mud and gravel and they leave me in dry comfort and clean up afterwards to look like new. Foot remind dry and warm through the snow and wet. Solid construction. I have bruises and abrasions on my ankles from the tongue. Over worn them lose, tight, somewhere in between. At what point do these boots stop injuring me and start being comfortable? I’m losing a toe nail as well. If I had known the superior construction was going to be a downside of the boot I would have spent the money on some other shoe/boot offered. These seem like they tried to bring them back in a different style. Very stiff, size seems to run at least 1/2 size bigger. Toe box is very narrow. They do seem well built but only have about 25 miles on them. I had to use inserts to make them fit correctly. Meh is how I’d describe them. Again for the 1,000th time, I’m not sure why Solomon took a boot that everyone loved and changed it.
