Recently transitioned from the Guide series, to the Ride series, starting with Ride-17. I feel as if the Ride-18 is much better than the 17, and better for my current running style.\r\n\r\nRide-18: Most running distances are 6 - 13 miles moderate pace, with occasional tempo and speed workouts as well. Once I ordered my Rides straight from Saucony and they NEVER SHOWED UP. Thank goodness Saucony customer service came through. I dont have a local running store, so I go online. Love the product. When I first started running in it, it was firm and felt like a brick. However, after I continued to put some mileage on it, it softened up. Eventually, after about 25 miles, it did become soft and bouncy-ish. I did have some sizing issues. I bought a 11.5 wide, and it caused blisters on my 2nd toe and on the medial side of my foot. This has since disappeared after 300 miles, probably due to breaking it in. The laces are not great. I highly recommend double knotting the laces or just replacing them. The grip is outstanding, as I never have felt worried about slipping. I've ran 400 miles in Ride 18s and they've been great shoes for all of my runs, both tempo and long. My feet are fairly narrow and I supinate. I'm a beginner runner and these are perfect for a one shoe rotation. Super comfortable upper and good amount of cushion around the ankle. Not too squishy midsole or too firm, perfectly balanced. I will say however the foam is on the firmer side, but lot of energy return/good springy feel.
