The wool maintains it's warmth even when wet. Bought before a cold front and they were warm but the wool material shed so bad it left little balls of material on everything I touched, it would look like snow was coming of me blowing down wind leaving scent all over. They fit great, we’re warm on a 20 degree morning but shed so bad that I had what looked like a ball of hair after wiping it down with just my hands. I washed them cold/warm an let air dry so maybe it was just mine. Bought bibs and jacket and both shed bad. They are warm, but you still will want layers underneath if it is windy and 30's or below. Bibs are great for warmth and these are warm and quiet. I love the side zippers on the legs. I open them to keep cool while walking to the stand. They have two zippers so you can keep the bottom closed so it is not flopping around and just zip them down from the top to open the leg vents. chest pocket is great as well. The Jacket is great too.
