ventilated.\nMy feet never sweat, never get cold, the shoes do not absorb moisture from snow, and they are very comfortable.\nThe next most amazing thing about these shoes is the traction, I work on roofs, we shovel off the snow and get to work, and I have never experienced better traction on slippery surfaces.\n\nMy only complaint so far is that the black rubber stuff on the toe area is already failingafter only 2 months, it's cracking and falling off, I don't think it affects the waterproofness so I'm not to upset about it, I am hard on my foot as good as it feels","text":"Purchased (mid, grey/black) to replace a pair of heavily worn MOAB's. Initial thoughts after unboxing and wearing for a couple days around the house: 1) the toe box is nice and wide. I sometimes have to jump up a 1/2 to 1 size (I have med wide feet), depending on how narrow shoes are, but these are wide enough to allow ample toe wiggle room even with thick-ish hiking socks, 2) build quality and materials seem very high quality and sturdy so I'm hopeful they will last longer, 3) I like the understated design elements - I've always hated how loud and \"hiking boot\" hiking boots are - these are def not that and I will not feel dorky wearing them to the pub with a pair of jeans, 4) arch support isnt great, but I typically require more than average arch support so I plan to add a different insole as with most shoes.
