If a woman is smart, she will by her men waterproof, shoes and boots. Men do not change their shoes when the whether gets bad. They catch colds and pass them onto their women. Timberland make an entire line of boots and shoes that are waterproof. These are stylish and well made and very practical. They look good - I love their style. And the leather is fine-enough quality and it got a very nice patina. That's what makes their terrible construction quality when it comes to the sole so upsetting. Before the first year was up, the laces were tattered and had to be replaced with $7 laces from the largest department store in the US that held up infinitely better. By the time the second year was up, the metal shank in the right boot had snapped and the leather had come unsealed and nearly completely separated from the heel of the sole. When I took it to the cobbler, they said they couldn't fix it and that I should get boots with a full stitch-down construction if I wanted something \"resoleable\" and repairable.
