It is light, but still high quality, free-standing and with two doors. I am careful with it, especially when my dog is camping with me, as I know it is not a heavy fabric. It just fits two people with a dog between our feet, and is very light. I also love the color! White performs the best with sun exposure and is also easy to find in the summer for safety. The blue base is a nice as well. It is constructed well and isn't flimsy. It doesn't feel cheap at all. The color is nice, and the features are legit. I set it up in my house to look at it before I put it to use. It's easy to set up. I've had a ton of UL tents (freestanding and non-freestanding), and I'd say this MH tent is up there with the other good ones.\n\nHowever, the specs of this tent are INCORRECT on the MH website. The tent is definitely not 88x50 inches. My measurement is 86x46 inches. Two 25-inch-wide pads will most certainly not fit in this tent. I put my two pads in this tent - one was 25 inches wide and the other was 21 inches wide - and they just barely fit. \n\nIf you're looking for a very light one-man tent, the Aspect 2P is a great choice. Or if your two pads are 46 inches wide or less (total), they'd fit in this tent. Simple and strong pole configuration without the multihub design that can’t be field repaired if a pole breaks at the hub (it has happened to me …). Light yet strong for a double wall tent and big enough for my 6 foot 4 inch height. Positive attachment of the fly to the cross pole which was a problem on a similar earlier Mountain Hardware design. Bought this tent and really want to keep it but will be returning it because of the odd design choice to attach the tent body to the poles via tiny plastic hooks on the poles. Attaching or detaching the loops on the tent body to the hooks on the poles is a pain, especially if setting up while wearing gloves. You have do this 14 times with every setup or breakdown. Just bought a second one for my adult son. It is far superior to my other tent, the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2. The Ascent 2 is superior in many important areas: it is lighter, the sil/sil nylon fly is always dry unlike the heavy water-sponging fly of the Copper Spur, it has a smooth fly profile that sheds all water unlike the Copper Spur fly's pond triangle, and it is symmetrical for easy night-time setup. It didn’t feel cramped inside even though my wife and I are both tall (6’2” and 5’11”). Tent did great in light wind (10-15mph) and drizzle, I haven’t tested it yet in worse conditions. It’s so easy to pitch, which I also love.
