We have had this in-ground fence system for almost 6 years now and have went through 5 collars. We are now currently needing to buy another collar right now and I cringe at the cost of buying it. The collar that needs replaced now won't even charge, the loops that hold these collar on break all the time if the dogs are playing agressively and happen to bite the collar and I just bought this collar in March of 2023. It was a bit labor intensive to install, but definitely worth it in the end. My dog is able to run and explore our yard without worry that she’ll get out. It gives a bit more range for your pet with this particular in ground fence. My dog also likes to dig and we live in the desert so digging deep to put the line was not easy by any means so therefore he dug some parts up a bit. Yes this does work and it covers a really good amount of area but it just seems like there might be an easier way. Figuring it all out, installing the fence, and training the dog all takes an extreme amount of time: practically a month. It's a cool idea but there has to be an easier way. If you have the time, great. The YardMax mode does not work and my poor dog is traumatized from the erroneous \"correction\" she endured while in the middle of our front yard. I can't even get her to walk out our front door anymore. I meticulously followed the installation and training instructions.. Our very first time with the collar in correction mode (level 2) after five days of successful beep-only training, she approached the boundary, the collar beeped, she moved back into the containment area and it started shocking her and kept shocking for the full 15 seconds as though she had left the containment area. I got the collar off after maybe 10-12 seconds but the damage was done. It has been a full week since the incident and our dog won't even walk out the door. I have to physically carry her to the back yard every single time I take her out. It is awful. It gives my dog the freedom to roam around the yard without me constantly worrying about him making a break for the neighbor's barbecue. But a word of caution: make sure you spend some time training your dog to understand the boundaries. It'll make the whole experience way smoother for both of you.\r\n\r\nThat said, it's not without its quirks. I had to fiddle with the settings a bit to get the range just right. And if you've got a super stubborn dog, you might need a bit more patience.\r\n\r\nBut all in all, if you're looking for a solid in-ground fence that won't break the bank, the YardMax is definitely worth considering.
