I had my eye on the Backyard Beast and reading reviews and forums I knew it was going to be the one. The sky’s opened up and I started seeing the hype ads for the x-fire. I watched the live and then watched it again and again and placed my order. One it arrived assembly was a piece of cake. Burned it in and started cooking. I purchased the rotisserie bundle and have done whole chickens a few times, ribs, butts and a brisket on the smoker side. For the grill side, ribeyes, burgers and chicken. Top wide open and grilling like a champion. Having the functionality of 2 in one is amazing. My only wish would be a larger hopper on the smoker side for longer cooks. Take a look and give it serious consideration. Went to an Ace Diamond dealer and look at all my options. The knowledgeable sales rep shared his experience with the X Fire and I took one home. I believe this is the best multi purpose Grill Smoker I have cooked on. After owning 4 other pellet grills and several gas, there is no question my first RecTeq is the best grilling machine - period. Perfectly seared tuna, reverse seared ribeye, tenderloin, chicken thigh’s and just wrapped up 321 ribs that turned out perfect. I have not used the max temp, but at high in grill mode and adaptive sear control open, I got 900 degrees easy.
