Everything he wears ruffwear related is a XXS, and I thought that would be too small, but I went ahead, and it’s pretty darn perfect. He loves it so much he falls asleep! It’s like a papoose! It hugs him and me. I’m so so happy with this. I think this is going to be great for giving him a chance to still be with us outside even though a mile is about his limit for walking. ","text":"We bought this backpack for adventuring with our lil chihuahua, just incase he needed to be kept close to us (like when we're camping or in a busy place) or if he gets tired on a walk, etc, and it has been PERFECT. We have used it on a busy ferry (so we didn't have to leave him in the car, but also so we didn't have to hold him in our arms), and then also when we were on a hike and wanted to cross from one beach to another at mid tide. At first he wasn't the biggest fan, but then when he realized it means he doesn't have to get wet, he happily went into it. I especially like the harness that goes around his neck -- it gives us a sense of security when he's in the pack, just knowing that he can't jump or wiggle out. We've had a few other doggy backpacks but this one, like all Ruffwear gear, is by far the best and worth every dollar! Second, we tested this backpack when hiking Sequoia National Park! For long hikes over 4-5 hours is not ideal and I am assuming is not really designed for that, but on shorter hikes or biking with your dog around town for couple hours - it is a great fit!
