It is my favorite leash for running with my dogs for many reasons, and I wish I could give it 5 stars, because most of the time, it is just perfect and just what I need. However, last year, the clip fell off the leash for no reason (no pulling, etc). I thought this was a one-off. Ruffwear sent me a gift card to purchase a new one. A year later, this happened to a different leash (purchased almost two years ago). And, it appears to be about to happen to the replacement I received last year. \n\nThis has been my go-to leash for an activity I do almost daily with my dogs, and I have trusted it to keep everyone safe. Perhaps it's just something with the balljoint design that wears after some time and something people need to monitor and replace once the clip becomes loose, but I hesitate to trust this design in terms of safety. I hope no one else has this issue, and I feel incredibly lucky that the leash broke each time in situations that did not result in terrible endings. I share this review as a cautionary tale -- I'm not saying don't buy this leash, but if you do, please make sure you monitor the tightness of the clip from time to time and don't blindly trust it to not fall apart. I'm hoping Ruffwear is able to come up with a more reliable and sturdy clip that isn't so vulnerable, as I adore this leash and would love to continue to use this leash in the future. Leash. Ever. ","text":"We absolutely love this leash! From the clip to the hip it’s amazing. We use the roamer leash every day and it serves us well. I wear it around my waist when we walk and it’s a perfect length to give our dog some freedom but still keep her close. The bungee section is an excellent feature as it has that bit of give before the pull. It’s high quality and good functionality. We thought we lost our trusty old grey one after a beach day and promptly ordered another. (I did trade in the yellow one I ordered for the green, but not because anything was wrong. Just preference.) I work with her consistently but I noticed the longer lead gives her some more space to feel comfortable and therefore she doesn’t pull as much. I appreciate the bungee aspect that gives me some confidence that I won’t be pulled over when my dog inevitably lunges for a squirrel. \n\nMy only wish is that it came in more colors. Maybe heliotrope? Maybe a black one? However the metal they use for the clasps are very soft and if used with a metal hook point causes serious durability issues of your dog is a puller. They should use a harder metal.
