I like the way the sides are reinforced since many of my shoes split there because I do so much side to side movement. That said, there isn't a lot of give initially, and the construction is a little rough, causing some pain on the top of one foot. However, I've hiked a few times in them now, and that has eased up. In short, tough shoe, but needs to be broken in a little.
