The controls are smooth and firm with nothing feeling loose or too tight in my opinion. I have scanned the grass and shrub cover hills that are roughly 3-400 yards off my back patio at dawn, mid day and dusk. The clarity is excellent with these at all times and I could even make out my 5.56x45mm hits at a 100yrds at the range. At the price point they are a great option, I feel.
