Cheap batteries came with the unit. The unit does not turnoff unless you completely un-screw the cap from the body, I was under the impression it could be rotated counter-clockwise to turn off. Anyone mounting a dot optic. This is a relatively inexpensive product for the amount of time, effort, and frustration it saves. Turn it on, drop it in your chamber, then adjust your dot until it covers the boresight laser's dot. Done. With the shorter distances pistols are used, there should be relatively less tweaks to elevation than a rifle once at the range.
