Instructions were well written and understandable, and assembly was pretty straightforward if you are handy with average tools. The components seemed to be of a decent quality in the beginning, but in just less than 6 months we already have signs of rust, of which I’ve had to prep and repaint. The 2 biggest issues I have is 1: with the stability of the whole system itself. Even with the concrete, install level and plumb and all fasteners tightened. The whole goal wobbles significantly on just about any shot (way more than our son’s previous portable unit). There doesn’t seem to be any real fix other than purchasing an additional stabilizer at a pretty high price. 2: The other issue is the backboard itself, even with the rolled edge the board seams way to thin and flexible, with there being a significant gap between he boards and structural components that adheres to the backboard itself. This makes for significant flex which can effect the basketball shot, along with a much louder clang heard every time the ball strikes the backboard. Unsure if there is some type of sound deadening tape that can be placed between the board and the backboard frame. I know it’s not the top of the line inground hoop, but it’s significantly more expensive than some of our previous portable hoops with similar results. One plastic part was already cracked from shipping and another cracked by snugging it and then they request you to back the bolt off half a turn. Wish they stated foot pounds required if they are sending plastic parts for install! Parts seem very cheap. Other than the plastic parts this unit works for my needs.
