I would not buy this for an older child thinking they’d be able to steer effectively. For us, the steering wheel’s purpose is solely for hand placement/balance. I would definitely recommend two skids on this sled. I would gladly pay a higher price for more stability. I would not let a novice sledder use this on anything but slow and gentle slopes.
